CLimate Justice Teach-In

October 27, 2018
Trinity Lutheran Church, Brooklyn, NY

We joined an exciting teach-in led by leaders of UPROSE, one of the longest-standing climate justice organizations in New York, and a nationally recognized leader in environmental justice more broadly. At the teach-in, we learned more about the movement and how to be part of the solution.

Afterward, we spoke about artist Justin Brice Guariglia’s Climate Signals installation in nearby Sunset Park and discussed the role of art in addressing climate injustice. Activities included creating your own climate signal and painting a “climate tile,” which will be displayed as a part of a citywide mosaic illustrating New Yorkers’ reflections on climate change. Pizza, refreshments, and music were provided.

This event was presented in partnership with UPROSE.
